Read & Reflect
Being grateful is simply to acknowledge some basic facts. There is a fittingness to it. Like marveling at the grandeur of the Grand Canyon, there is something fundamentally appropriate and proper about creatures giving thanks to God the Creator.
Psalm 147:1 (ESV)
1 Praise the LORD!
For it is good to sing praises to our God;
for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting.
1 Corinthians 4:7 (ESV)
7 For who sees anything different in you? What do you have that you did not receive? If then you received it, why do you boast as if you did not receive it?
Psalm 100:3–5 (ESV)
3 Know that the LORD, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
5 For the LORD is good;
his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
